Delete online data

You can delete a Swapsies online account and everything we hold about it at any time. It’s free.

First, a quick check: if the player is under 13, there’s no online account. We hold nothing, so there’s nothing to delete on our side. The game save lives only on the device.

Option 1: in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Swapsies.
  2. Go to Settings → For grown-ups. Complete the parent check.
  3. Tap Delete online data and confirm.

Deletion happens right away.

After that, the game keeps working offline and the squishies on the device stay. Friends stays off. If a grown-up later taps Turn Friends back on in Settings → For grown-ups, a brand-new anonymous account is created.

Option 2: by email

Email privacy@playswapsies.com with the subject “Delete Swapsies data”.

Please include:

  • the player’s 8-digit friend code (shown in Friends)
  • that you’re the player, or the player’s parent or guardian

Please don’t send the child’s real name, birth date or photos. We don’t need them.

We may ask a question or two to confirm the request is from the player or their parent. We act within 30 days and email you when it’s done.

Option 3: it happens on its own

Online accounts that aren’t used for 12 months are deleted automatically.

What gets deleted

Deleting the online account removes, all at once:

  • the anonymous account ID and sign-in
  • the friend code and preset profile (username, avatar, accessories, showcase stickers, level)
  • the online copy of the album and its record of changes
  • friends and friend requests
  • trades, including open trades with other players
  • Squish Vote choices
  • the trading on/off setting
  • blocks and reports made by or about the player

What isn’t deleted by this

  • The game save on the device. It’s not on our servers. To clear it, use Settings → For grown-ups → Reset progress, or delete the app.
  • Other players’ own records. A friend’s own album history may still show that a trade happened, linked only to a random ID that no longer points to anyone.
  • A short note of the request. If you emailed us, we keep only the date and what we did, with no child data, so we can show we honored it.

Backups and logs

Our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs and backups, which are deleted on their normal schedule. Deleted data leaves them when they roll over, and after that it can’t be recovered.
